Fav: Burceau. Trad metal is like Sabbathian stoner; everyone loves it so much that there are a billion bands devoted to it, and that means a lot of samey. You really need some spice to stand out. Herzel have that spicy secret sauce. Everyone can do a galloping line, but is it adventurous? Unexpected melodic turns like turning a cobbled street corner to see a mighty vista? Soaring lines that stir your blood? Extra points for whatever that horn/brass instrument was, it fit right in. Hail Herzel! pinkytheent

My bad never heard of these Lyonnais before, and boy did I miss something. Starting with "Rubicon" and immediately I am hooked, it's grabbing and not letting you go, relentlessly captivating, also the vocals, it's high-pitched powerful female vocals, and it sounds full of energy, like the singer is about to have an aneurism, but not screaming either. The album continues with plenty of energetic hooks, riffs and that catchy rhythm that keeps you rocking (e.g. Ronde de Nuit). Putain c'est BON sachavonkarl74
